Frequently Asked Questions
These are some of our mostly frequently asked questions. The answers provided here are meant to be general and are not a guarantee of which license you need for your project. Please throughly read, understand, and agree to our Image License Terms before purchasing an image usage license. If you have a question not answered here, or need help determining which image license you need, please contact us.
How do I know if I need the Extended License?
Please read our License Terms which cover all allowed usages and restrictions throughly before purchasing.
As you're considering which license is right for your project, start by asking yourself these two questions: "How many copies or views will I need?" and "Will I be using the art be used prominently on merchandise or products for resale?"
If you need over 500,000 copies or views, you'll need the Extended License. If you answered "Yes" to using the art on products for resale—regardless of number of products, copies, or views—you will need the Extended License. These are not the only situations that require an Extended License, but, for most people, these two questions will help them understand which license to purchase. Please throughly read and agree to our License Terms to understand all terms and conditions before purchasing a license.
If still you have any questions, please contact and we will help you choose which license is right for your project.
Do you offer any FREE vectors?
Yes we do and every week we're adding more art to our FREE vector section! For any sets listed as "Free", the Standard License is free and you can upgrade to an Extended License for the reduced price of only $5. You will need to create an account to checkout but you will not need to enter any payment information if you're getting only the Standard License. Creating an account allows you to always be able to access the files you've downloaded anytime.
Do you offer refunds or returns?
No, we do not offer returns, exchanges, or refunds on digital vector art because of the nature of downloadable products. However, if you have a problem with your order or an issue accessing the digital files after checkout, please contact us with your order number and details about the issue so we can work with you to come up with the best possible solution.
Do you do custom projects and if so, what do you charge?
No, at this time our artists are not available for custom freelance projects. We do however welcome your general requests. If there's something you're looking for, get in touch and let us know. We keep a running list of requested subject matter which our artists consider when making new sets for the store. We cannot guarantee if or when your request will be fulfilled but if it is, we will contact you. There is no extra fee for this and you are not obligated to buy the images created from your request.
I would like to use your artwork in an app I am building. Is this allowed?
Yes, with the Enhanced License you can use images licensed from Awesome Vector Art in your app.
I bought the Standard License but now my project has changed and I need the Extended License. Can I upgrade my existing license?
Unfortunately, no. Each image license sold is unique. We encourage customers to really consider all the possible ways they plan to use an image before purchasing a license. If you have a Standard License on a specific image but now need the Extended License, you will need to purchase the image license again, this time selecting the Extended License option.
I like two different image sets but only need part of each set. Can you do customized "mix-and match" sets where I tell you just what images I want?
No, we do not do customized orders. All image sets are sold as shown.
What is a vector file?
There are two general types of digital graphic image files: raster images (also called bitmap) and vector images. A raster image is made of pixels—a jpeg or a photograph are great examples. These are the files most people are familiar. Vector graphics are created with special vector graphics program such as Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW. Vector graphics use mathematical equations and points to define the outlines of shapes instead of pixels. Because of this, vector images can be enlarged or reduced to any size without loss of quality. This makes vector graphics especially useful for products of all kinds.
All the files on our site are provided as Adobe Illustrator .ai vector files. If you need a different file format, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Can anyone buy a license or do you need to be a business?
Absolutely anyone can purchase an image license to use the artwork! The great part about licensing royalty-free images is that anyone can buy them. Our collections are designed with teachers, parents, and businesses in mind. The art can be used in projects ranging from a national tv ad campaign to a school bulletin board—and everything in between! Besides the usual business, marketing, and commercial uses, some fun personal uses of the art include kids birthday invitations, home wall decor, craft projects, and community newsletters. In general most personal (non-commercial) uses like the ones listed above are covered by our Standard License Terms, however, since every project is unique, please refer to our Image License Terms to determine which license is appropriate for your project.
Your license says I cannot provide the file to anyone but I want to make downloadable coloring pages/activity sheets. Is this allowed and if so, which license will I need to purchase?
Yes, if you purchase the Extended License you can use the art to create coloring and activity pages. You will also need to have proper attribution (© AwesomeVectorArt.com) appear somewhere on the downloadable page and you cannot provide the file as an editable vector. Please read and agree to our License Terms which cover all allowed usages and restrictions throughly before purchasing, specifically Section 5(b) that details the specific terms and conditions for using the art for coloring and activity pages.
How do I download the files after checkout?
